India released excess water in Chenab river, fear of flooding

Web Desk: India released a large reservoir of water in the river without informing, after which the water level of the Chenab river in Jalalpur Bathian increased further.
The 200,000 cusecs of floodwater released by India in the Chenab River has reached the Raila Khanki barrage. The flood level in Chenab River will reach Chinot this evening and Head Trimum tomorrow. There is a risk of high level flooding in the Chenab River after the release of water by India. PDMA had issued a high alert in the adjoining areas of the river in view of the flood situation. According to the Sialkot district administration, flood relief camps have been set up in the adjacent areas after the increase in the water level in Chenab river at Head Marala. Instructions have been issued to the residents living on the banks of the river to move their goods and livestock to safe places.
