Lord’s: English middle-order batsman Joe Root made several runs in the second Test against Sri Lanka.

In the second innings of the Test against Sri Lanka at Lord’s, Jurort became the English batsman with 34 centuries in the Test format.

33-year-old Joe Root scored the 34th century of his Test career, surpassing former England captain Alastair Cook with 33 centuries. This is Joe Root’s 145th Test, compared to Alastair Cook’s 161 career matches.

Joe Root also has the distinction of scoring the most centuries at the ‘Home of Cricket’ Lord’s Cricket Ground with 7 centuries. English duo Graham Gooch and Michael van Lords moved into second place with six centuries at Lord’s.

Joe Root also became the fourth batsman to score centuries in both Test innings at Lord’s. In the second Test against Sri Lanka, Joe Root was dismissed for 143 runs in the first innings and 103 runs in the second innings.
