PCC Chief Kamal Nath praised former CM Digvijay Singh in the National Panchayati Raj Conference held in Bhopal. Former Congress state president of UP Brijlal Khabri was also present in the program held at Rabindra Bhawan. Kamal Nath said in the program – The history of Panchayati Raj does not start with Congress. The symbol of Panchayati Raj has been there since long. The Panchas were considered Gods. The roots of Panchayat Raj go back to the Vedic period. There was a system of Panchayati Raj during the Ramayana and Mahabharata period. This is history. Many countries of the world were shocked. When we made the law of Panchayati Raj, Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru started it. There were many problems but he took the first step of Panchayati Raj. Rajiv Gandhi implemented Panchayati Raj by amending the Constitution.
Digvijay government was the first in the country to implement Panchayati Raj.
Kamal Nath said- Digvijay Singh was the Chief Minister in the Congress government. Digvijay Singh implemented Panchayati Raj which was not implemented by any state in the country. It lasted for ten years. In that the public representatives had rights, our Panch Sarpanch and Upasarpanches were respected. But today there are only rubber stamps and stamps in Jhunjhunwala which is Panchayati Raj. He is in front of everyone. What is happening today, the rights given by Digvijay Singh. The BJP government snatched it away.
Panchayati Raj representatives welcomed Kamal Nath. Former Congress state president of UP Brijlal Khabri was also present in the program.
Our country lives in villages
Kamal Nath said- People from the rest of the state used to ask me in the Parliament. How did Digvijay Singh implement this? I used to say that it is not in your control, this is where Congress is in power and where Congress is strong. This may apply there. The rights given to you never reached our villages in history. Because we have to recognize our country. Our country is Bhopal, not the country of Delhi and Mumbai. Our country is a country settled in villages. Unless rights start from the village. Until the elected representatives meet. Till then the village cannot be prosperous.
Many Deputy Sarpanch colleagues meet me and tell me that they do not even give us a chair to sit. The Panch wants to work between a small number of 100-200 people in his ward. He does not contest Panch elections for an assembly ticket. It comes from the spirit of social service. But today they have neither rights nor respect.

Kamal Nath said- Congress government was formed for 15 months. My aim was to first change the system. Out of 15 months, two and a half months went into the code of conduct. In 11 and a half months we presented our policy and intentions. If we gave 100 units of electricity for 100 rupees, the government staff would say bring these papers, bring these certificates. I said that the electricity bill is my certificate, the bill for the one who gets 100 units will be charged only 100 rupees. If Adani and Ambani have hundred units then their bill will also be Rs 100. Remove this paper.
Kamal Nath said – For me, change in the system is the biggest need in Madhya Pradesh. We waived off the loans of farmers, built cow shelters, what sin have I committed? Because I knew that the farmers had to be strengthened first. We started. Farmers should not have to wander for seeds and fertilizers.

If their future remains in darkness then what kind of state will we build?
The original Panchayat Raj system should be implemented, we were the ones who implemented it. You don’t need to explain to us. How to solve the problems of creating Gram Nyayalaya and MNREGA. These problems cannot be solved in the ministry or district office of Bhopal, they can be solved only in the villages.
