Leader of banned Maoist group killed in encounter with security forces
An area commander of banned organization People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) was killed in an encounter between members of the splinter group and security forces in Jharkhand’s Ranchi district. The police gave this information on Tuesday.
The encounter took place around 11.30 pm on Monday night in Thakurgaon police station area of the district, about 40 km from the state capital.
Ranchi Rural SP Naushad Alam said that the deceased has been identified as Vishal Sharma alias Vishal Sahu, who was wanted in several cases and was active in Budmu, Thakurgaon and other areas.
