Man arrested in high speed chase from Candiac to Montreal police
A 32-year-old man was arrested early Thursday morning after a high-speed chase that began on the South Shore and ended in Montreal.
Quebec Provincial Police (SQ) say the chase began around 2:30 a.m. in Candiac after officers spotted a pickup with no license plate.
The driver of the truck reportedly headed toward Boucherville and eventually made it onto Highway 25 to Montreal before watering his vehicle in the Anjou neighborhood near Louis H. La Fontaine boulevard.
He fled on foot and was eventually tracked down to a Belfroy Avenue balcony near Champchevrier Avenue.
He was arrested and faces several charges, including dangerous driving, failure to stop for police and trespassing.
