Man killed in two-car collision in Monaghan – The Irish Times

Gardai and emergency services attended the scene of a fatal road traffic incident on the N12 in Monaghan on Saturday morning.
The collision happened at around 11.15am on the N12 near Knockconnie and involved two cars. The driver of one of the cars and the only person in his 50s was fatally injured.
The body of the youth has been removed from the spot for postmortem.

Two people from the other car were taken to Drogheda and Cavan hospitals for treatment of injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.
A technical examination of the scene will be carried out by Garda Forensic collision investigators. The road remains closed with diversions in place.
Gardai are appealing for anyone with information to come forward. Anyone who may have seen or has video footage (including dash-cam) of the incident is asked to contact GardaÃ.
