New Delhi : Tripura BJP unit president Manik Saha will be the next chief minister of the state. Dr. Manik Saha, president of the state unit and a member of the Rajya Sabha, has been appointed to the post after a meeting of the Legislature Party following the resignation of Biplab Dev on Saturday. Union Minister Bhupinder Yadav, who arrived as Central Observer after Rajya Sabha member Manik Saha was elected leader of the Legislative Party, congratulated him. “Congratulations to Manik Saha on being elected leader of the Tripura BJP Legislature Party. I am confident that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and under his leadership, Tripura will reach new heights of development,” Yadav said.

Earlier on Saturday, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Dev had a surprise meeting with Governor SN Arya on Saturday and tendered his resignation to him. Union Minister Bhupinder Yadav, who arrived in Agartala as the central observer for the selection of the new leader, and senior leader and National General Secretary of the party Vinod Tawde attended the meeting of the Legislature Party.

Apart from the two leaders, BJP MP and Tripura in-charge Vinod Sonkar was also present at the meeting. Manik Saha’s name was unanimously sealed at a meeting of the BJP Legislature Party, after which it was decided that he would be the next Chief Minister of Tripura.

After Wazira Ali resigned, Dev told reporters that the party was at the top. I am a BJP worker, I hope I did justice to the responsibility given to me, whether it was the post of BJP unit president or the post of Chief Minister of Tripura, Worked for the complete development of Pura and ensured an atmosphere of peace for the people of the state.
