March break ideas for the whole family in Simcoe County
Here are some ideas for keeping the kids busy during March break.
Popular children’s entertainer team T&J will perform musical performances on Mondays at 12:30, 1:30 and 2:30.
Take part in free Zumba at 1pm, 2pm and 3pm, as well as coloring and activities on Tuesdays at 1:30pm and 2:30pm.
On Wednesday at 12, there will be a special hula hooping performance with Barrie Circus School at 1:05 and 2:10.
Then on Thursdays, enjoy a magical performance by a magician until 2 p.m. followed by a meet-and-greet with Barry Colts and Charlie Horse at 2:30 p.m.
Friday is St. Patrick’s Day, complete with Jedi balloon twisters, face painting and glitter tattoos from 10 a.m. to noon, followed by Irish dance performances at 12:15 p.m. and 1 p.m.
On Mondays and Tuesdays, between 11 and 2, kids can enjoy an interactive clown show, and from noon to 1 p.m., there’s a balloon workshop.
Balloon workshop will be held from Wednesday to Friday from 1 pm to 2 pm
The mall will host sports camp activities for all ages from 10 pm to 4 am throughout the week
Take the kids skating at an outdoor rink at Quell’s Brewery on Line 12 North. There’s live music, fire pits, and home-cooked food.
The whole family can enjoy a day trip to Friday Harbor Resort, where March Break Escapes are going on all week, including free ice skating in the piazza.
Take a trip back in time to the 17th century for $9 per person between 10 and 4 p.m. all week, children five and under are free.
There are historical exhibits, crafting, and storytelling for educational fun.
Take the family to Serenity Rising for a scavenger hunt, or sit by the fire and enjoy hot chocolate and s’mores.
There are plenty of animals to meet, and horse rides are available for an additional fee.
Bring snowshoes or skis and explore the property and trails.
Events run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and admission is $10 per person or $50 per family.
