MI vs PKBS : Punjab beat Mumbai by 13 runs

Leaders Online Desk: Captain Sam Karan’s powerful half-century and Arshdeep Singh’s aggressive bowling led Punjab Kings to a 13-run victory over Mumbai Indians. The match was played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Initially, Mumbai won the toss and invited Punjab to bat. After this, Punjab Kings, who came out to bat, put up a mountain of runs and challenged Mumbai for 215 runs.
Mumbai’s team could only score 201 runs while chasing Punjab’s challenge of 215 runs. For Mumbai, Cameron Green scored 67 off 43 balls, Suryakumar Yadav 57 off 26 balls and captain Rohit Sharma contributed 44 runs off 27 balls. Arshdeep Singh from Punjab took 4 wickets giving 29 runs in 4 overs. Also Liam Livingstone and Nathan Illis took 1 wicket each.
Earlier, in the absence of Shikhar Dhawan and under the leadership of all-rounder Sam Karan, Punjab Kings put up a formidable challenge of 215 runs against Mumbai. Punjab Kings scored 214 runs for 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Sam Karan played the role of captain and scored 55 runs off 29 balls. Along with this, Harpreet Singh Bhatia contributed 41 off 28 balls, Prabhasimran Singh 26 off 17 balls, Atharva Taide 29 off 17 balls and Jitesh Sharma contributed 25 off 7 balls. These batsmen literally plucked the feathers of the Mumbai bowlers. Seasoned bowlers like Jofra Archer, Jason Behrendroff, Cameron Greene along with rookies like Arjun Tendulkar were swept away. Experienced Piyush Chawla took 2 wickets giving away 15 runs in 3 overs bowling very well. Green took 2 wickets for 41 runs in 4 overs. Jason Behrendroff scored 41 runs in three overs, Jofra Archer scored 42 runs in 4 overs and Arjun Tendulkar scored 48 runs in 3 overs and managed to take 1 wicket.
