Madal Virupakshappa son of BJP MLA from Channagiri constituency of Davangere district was caught red handed in Lokayukta’s trap while accepting bribe.

Bangalore: Madal Prashant, the son of BJP MLA from Channagiri constituency in Davangere district, Madal Prashant, was caught red-handed in Lokayukta’s trap while accepting bribe. The Lokayukta has fallen into the trap of demanding more than 80 lakhs from the contractor for awarding the tender and getting more than 40 lakhs in advance. MLA’s son Prashant is the chief accountant of BWSSB. It is said that KSDL demanded bribe for awarding raw material supply tender. 2 thousand in 3 bags at Virupakshappa’s office on Crescent Road, Bangalore. And 500 rupee notes were found. It is suspected that the office of Modal Prashant is a collection center.

Modal Virupakshappa’s reaction to TV9

Channagiri MLA and KSDL president Madal Virupakshappa responded to TV9, “I am just now watching the story of son Prashant falling into Lokayukta’s trap on TV. I still don’t know what the matter is. I am now coming to Bangalore from Kshetra. He said that he will meet me in Bangalore tomorrow.

Bags of money found

In 2008, Madal Prashant, who got 3B reservation after showing his father’s income of just 1.2 lakh rupees, passed KAS, is the son of Madal Virupakshappa, BJP MLA from Channagiri constituency. Madal Virupakshappa has three sons, out of the three sons, Prashant is the second son. Suspicion of malpractice has also been raised in the previous tender of KSDL. Lokayukta police seized all the money in the office.

Apart from Rs 40 lakh, different money bags were found. MLA Modal Virupakshappa used to come to the office on Crescent Road. There is an office on the first floor of a building on Crescent Road and the tender process is the deal spot. Prashant is running the office with some staff.

Lokayukta IGP Dr. A. Subrahmanyeshwar Rao’s response

Lokayukta IGP Dr. A. Subrahmanyeshwar Rao has given a response on this, saying that MLA Madal Virupakshappa’s son has fallen into Lokayukta’s trap. Prashant fell into the trap while accepting a bribe of ₹40 lakh from the contractor involved in the tender. A private person lodged a complaint with the Lokayukta office this morning regarding the KSDL tender. He said that based on the complaint, an FIR was registered and the attack was carried out.
