Bollywood’s famous actress Moushumi Chatterjee had made a tremendous identity in Hindi cinema as well as Bengali cinema with her acting and her style. She made her acting debut in the film ‘Balika Vadhu’. Moushumi Chatterjee has worked with many big Bollywood actors during her career, from Dharmendra to Sanjeev Kumar. With Sanjeev Kumar, she appeared in many films from ‘Angoor’ to ‘Berham’ and ‘Dasi’. In an interview given to rediff.com, Moushumi Chatterjee had told that Sanjeev Kumar used to reach his house every night and used to ask for food.
In her interview, Moushumi Chatterjee had told that she used to call him by the name of Haribhai Jariwala. The actress had said about this, “He used to live near our house in Pali Hill. We were very good friends. He was a soft hearted person with good understanding. He treated me like a child. Sometimes he would come to my house when my husband and I were going out somewhere.”
Talking about Sanjeev Kumar, Moushumi Chatterjee further said, “He would see us and say ‘You guys go, just ask your maid to make some non-veg for me. Is there any fish in the fridge of the house.’ There was a time when he used to come home late at night. At that time my second daughter Megha was born. I was very upset by these things of his.”
Moushumi Chatterjee further said about Sanjeev Kumar, “I used to see him and say, ‘Yeh koi time hai aane ka? Do you come here to eat? Send the driver, we will give you the box.’ Babu (Mausami Chatterjee’s husband) was also very embarrassed by these things. But Haribhai used to tell him that I am like his mother.
In an interview to The Indian Express, Moushumi Chatterjee said about Sanjeev Kumar, “I was the only actress who used to call him Jariwala. I found this title very funny and I didn’t want to call him by full name. He used to call me ‘Moush’. I played his daughter in the film ‘Zindagi’.
