National strength in sports: Union Minister Kishan Reddy
Secunderabad, Velak: Union Minister Kishan Reddy said that sportspersons should bring name to the country and the state as much as possible. He spoke at the closing meeting of the ‘Khelo Telangana.. Jeeto Telangana’ competition held at the Gymkhana Ground on Thursday. He congratulated the girls for performing brilliantly in the competitions like ‘kisi se kaam nahi’. It is said that Prime Minister Modi said that with a vision regarding sports, competitions should be held in all parts of the country. He said that after Modi came to power, our athletes are achieving good results in many international competitions including Olympics. He said that there is a need for the state government along with individuals and organizations to promote sports in Telangana. They performed to make you forget the Olympics. This spirit should be continued in the future. The government will stand by the sportspersons,” he said. Earlier, Lok Satta President Jayaprakash Narayana said, “Excellent sports competitions were organized to increase healthy competition and fill the spirit of sportsmanship among the youth. “Congratulations to Kishan Reddy for playing team spirit games like Khokho and Kabaddi,” he said. Youths from 40 divisions of seven assembly constituencies competed in the ten-day competition held in Secunderabad Parliament. More than 10,000 people registered and 7,279 participated in the competition. Kishan Reddy gave prizes to the winning teams and players.
