Kolkata: ISF MLA Nawsad Siddiqui spent about 12 hours with the hunger strikers from 6 am to 6 pm. In the way state politics has taken a turn in the past few days, Naushad is one of the most talked about MLAs in Bengal. He is the only non-BJP MLA in the opposition camp. He witnessed an unpleasant experience when DA came to the stage that day. There a young man tried to raise his hand on Naushad. It is alleged that he was pushed. Although Naushad Siddiqui says he has come to know that the person is a Trinamool man. He is a panchayat member of Trinamool. Naushad exchanged greetings with the protestors while leaving and said, ‘If anyone thinks that Naushad Siddiqui will get scared by pushing, then he is thinking in vain. Incidentally, the accused who committed this crime is Abdul Salam alias Tota. It is known that he is a member of Panchayat number 2 of Bankra, Howrah. However, Deputy Chief Sheikh Mihir Ali says that Abdul is sick. He is a member of the Panchayat. However, Abdul was not with us before the assembly polls. BJP did it.’ It is to be noted that due to the incident that happened with Naushad, an FIR was filed at the Maidan police station by the protesting joint platform agitating for the demand of Maharghabhata. Abdul Salam was arrested by the police based on the complaint.
When Naushad told government employees while leaving the hunger stage that evening, he would stand by them in every way. He told the media, ‘This movement has been going on for 37 days. This problem is not only for government employees. The future of Bengal depends on it. Whether there will be government jobs in the coming days or will become contractual depends on this.’ It should be noted that the way Naushad was pushed today, the protesting government employees are not seeing well at all. Naushad also requested the police to keep an eye on the hunger strike so that no untoward incident takes place.
