Negotiations between Chief Minister Balochistan and transporters were successful, announced the strike

After successful negotiations with Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti, the transporters of Balochistan announced the end of the ongoing strike on all highways in the province.

Transporters in Balochistan blocked the national highways protesting against additional check posts and blocking of passenger vehicles.

Due to the protest, the traffic was suspended due to the severe problem of the people.

Transporters have rejected the new SOPs saying they are ready to distrust them, asking the government to scrap the new check posts as their buses are checked at every check post.

Today, in the official press release issued by the government of Balochistan, it was stated that a delegation of representatives of transporters met the Chief Minister of Balochistan Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, Provincial Minister Ali Madad Jatak and Member of Assembly Mir Liaquat Lahri also available in the talks.

On this occasion, Sarfaraz Bugti said that the legitimate problems of the transporters will be solved but the anti-trafficking action will continue, protest is a constitutional right but blocking the highways is an illegal move.

According to the press release, Prime Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti said that the law will come into action if the highways are closed and people are inconvenient, joint check posts will remain in place, levees and police are not authorized to conduct in anti-trafficking searches.

Sarfaraz Bugti instructed the Home Department not to stop passenger buses at the joint check post for more than 15 to 20 minutes.

The press release said that it was decided in the meeting that there will be a security personnel in each passenger car, and the safety of the passengers will be ensured.

Later, the transporters announced to end the protest and strike after being assured by Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti.
