NIA raids at PFI sites in 12 states across the country

• NIA and ED raided the house of PFI leaders

The National Investigation Agency has raided PFI ie Popular Front of India and its links across the country in cases of terror funding and running camps. Over the past few days, the ED, NIA and state police have arrested over 100 people linked to PFI, in separate cases from over 10 states. This is the biggest ever crackdown on PFI and its people training activities, terror funding and linking people to the organisation.


NIA and ED raided the house of PFI leaders

Regarding the NIA raid, PFI General Secretary Abdul Sattar said that the agencies are being used to suppress the voice of protest. Earlier on September 18, the NIA conducted raids at 23 locations in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The raids were conducted in the case of Popular Front of India (PFI) running a training camp on a banned organization in the name of Karate Training Centre.

NIA has arrested karate teacher Abdul Qadir. According to sources, Abdul Qadir and the PFI are accused of preparing Muslim youths to plot riots under the guise of teaching karate. Sources say that weapons have also been recovered from the arrested persons. These weapons were used in training. Officers were interrogating those arrested in connection with karate training and illegal activities.

The NIA conducted raids in Nizamabad, Kurnool, Guntur and Nellore districts. If the sources are to be believed, the NIA raided the same places from where information about the operation of terrorist activities was received.
