Olympic athlete burned by ex-friend dies

Olympic athlete Rebecca Chepigi died after five days in hospital.

According to foreign media reports from Nairobi, Rebecca Chepigi was set on fire by her ex-boyfriend who doused her with gasoline, burning more than 75% of the athlete’s body.

Rebecca, who is originally from Uganda, participated in the recently concluded Paris Olympics. There was a land dispute between the athlete and his friend.
