PMDC announces new date for MDCAT 2023

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) on Tuesday postponed the Medical and Dental College Admission Test-2023 (MDCAT 2023) by two weeks.

Earlier, the entrance exam for medical and dental colleges – as per last year’s syllabus – was scheduled to be held on August 27.

However, PMDC has extended the exam date in view of the instructions issued by the Federal Government and has announced that the MDCAT for this year will now be held on September 10, 2023 (Sunday).

PMDC announces new date for MDCAT 2023

“All MDCAT 2023 candidates are informed that as per the directive of the Federal Secretary, Ministry of National Health Services Regulation and Coordination Islamabad, the Federal Government has decided to extend and reschedule the MDCAT exam to a new date i.e. September 10, 2023 . , “read the statements.

In the first week of this month, the PMDC decided to hold a council meeting after the standing committee on health of the dissolved National Assembly directed the date of MDCAT to be extended by two weeks.

After attending the Standing Committee meeting, PMDC’s Acting Registrar Dr. Azhar Ali Shah said that he has been directed to extend the date of the test by two weeks.

“The council of PMDC is authorized to extend the date, but if the health ministry and PMDC receive a formal request for extension from the standing committee, we will definitely consider the issue of extension,” he said.

It may be noted that the PMDC Council had decided to conduct the MDCAT on August 27 so that the classes start on time after completing the admissions without wasting the time of the students.
