Presidential candidate Yashwant Sinha gets ‘Z’ category protection

New Delhi: The Union government has provided Z-category security to Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) commandos to opposition presidential candidate Yashwant Sinha. Officials made the announcement on Friday. Following instructions from the Union Home Ministry to the CRPF’s VIP security wing to ensure Sinha’s (84) safety, the squad has taken over Sinha’s security.
Whenever Sinha travels anywhere in the country, eight to 10 armed men will protect him, officials said. It may be noted that NDA’s presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu has also been given Z + category protection.

Sinha will file his nomination papers on June 27, after which he will travel to different parts of the country to seek votes for himself. The presidential election will be held on July 18 and the counting of votes will take place on July 21. Incumbent President Ram Nath Kovind’s term is coming to an end on July 24. Let me tell you that NDA’s presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu will file his nomination today. Many senior BJP leaders are present for this. Draupadi Murmu has the support of many political parties.
