Prohibition of the order of a separate judge to conduct typing test according to the old method!
The Madurai High Court has issued an interim stay on the order of a single judge regarding the conduct of typing test in Tamil Nadu as per the old method. In this case, the Madurai High Court has said that the typing test should not be conducted in Tamil Nadu till the order is issued.
Typing examination is conducted every year by Directorate of Technical Education in Tamil Nadu. BA and MA Typing exams will be in 2 stages namely Paper-1 Paper-2. For the last 75 years, the typing test has been conducted as paper-1 speed test and paper-2 as statement and letter test.
In this case, in the recently published exam notification, it has been mentioned that in junior and master level exam, paper-1 will be letter & statement exam and paper-2 will be speed exam. A petition was filed against this and seeking an order to conduct the examination as per the old system. An appeal filed by Praveen Kumar from Trichy was filed in which “The order issued by the single judge that the typing test will be held as usual in Tamil Nadu should be cancelled”.
The single judge who inquired into this ordered to conduct the typing test in Tamil Nadu according to the old system. Praveen Kumar, the owner of a typing training center in Trichy, had filed an appeal against the order of the single judge.
A bench of Justices Mahadevan and Sathyanarayana Prasad heard this petition and said, “Interim stay is imposed on the order of the single judge regarding the conduct of typing test in Tamil Nadu according to the old system. And in this case the typing test should not be conducted till the order is issued” and adjourned the case for 2 weeks.
