Rahul Gandhi had earlier visited Cambridge University in May 2022.  Here he was to speak on the topic Ideas for India.  Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi said that the Modi government is not allowing the country's constitutional institutions like the Parliament and the Election Commission to do their work.  BJP objected to his statement.  The question was asked that why such a statement was made on the Prime Minister of the country abroad?

The name had to be changed because everyone was worried about Rahul's safety after the assassination of his father Rajiv Gandhi.  When the controversy started over Rahul's degree, the Vice Chancellor of Cambridge Prof.  Alison Richard also wrote a letter stating that Rahul has obtained a degree in the name of Roll Vinci.
