Republic Day Alert: Police arrested 151 accused in ‘Operation All Out’

MUMBAI: To ensure a smooth and peaceful Republic Day celebration, the Mumbai Police conducted ‘Operation All Out’ across the city. Late on Tuesday night, the police conducted a combing operation at 202 places in the city and arrested 151 accused.
Inspectors and police personnel including Additional Commissioners of all five regions of the city, DCPs of each zone, 28 Divisional ACPs and Senior Inspectors of each police station participated in Operation All Out. 844 hotels, lodges were searched during the operation.
According to the official, 51 absconding accused were nabbed. 100 accused who were issued non-bailable warrants were also arrested. Apart from this, action was taken against those who buy and sell drugs, keep illegal weapons.
More than 70 places of illegal liquor sale and gambling were also raided and destroyed. As many as 926 accused on record were examined, of which 331 were prosecuted.
Meanwhile, blockades were imposed at 111 places in the city, in which 2,568 motorists were booked under the Motor Vehicles Act. Apart from this, some drivers were fined for drunk and driving.
