For the last two-three years, 40 percent of the drains of this area were cleaned by encircling the officials of the Gandak Irrigation Department to run a campaign for cleaning the drains. The executive engineer of the Kushinagar Irrigation Department will soon be given a leaflet towards the sugarcane farmers so that the drains can be cleaned before the rains.
