“Jake Charles, who scored nine goals last season for Stafford Rangers in the Northern Premier League, scored in a 1-1 draw against Borough at Flamingo Land Stadium in March and can play outside.

Charles, 26, is a former Welsh youth international and has previously played for Huddersfield Town, Barnsley, Stalybridge Celtic, Stafford Rangers and Farsley Celtic.

“Borough boss Jonathan Greening has been eyeing Jake for several months, with several other clubs also interested in signing Jake.”

New signing Charles said: “I look forward to playing closer to home and meeting again with Bailey and Dylan, with whom I have previously played at trials with Huddersfield, Barnsley and other clubs”.

“I see Jono in the gym regularly and I’m happy to come to Scarborough next season and challenge myself in the National League North.”
