School bus routes have been canceled for the rest of the week for 2 Kitchener schools
The Waterloo Region District School Board has announced that it is canceling school bus transportation to two schools in Kitchener for the remainder of the week.
The board says school bus Route 157, which takes students to JF Carmichael Public School and Kitchener-Waterloo Collegiate and Vocational School (KCI), will not operate on Thursday or Friday.
It added that Waterloo Region’s student transport services have taken the step due to staff shortages and illnesses.
“We understand the impact this decision may have on our students and their families and caregivers,” a board release said. “STSWR does this only as a last resort.”
With the canceled route, the board says that students have the option of looking for an alternate route to school or they can switch to distance learning through D2L or Google Classroom.
