Recently, two passengers were caught by the customs officials while transporting almost a kilo of gold illegally at the airport. The gold was seized from them and a case was registered. A passenger from Dubai in the morning and a female passenger arrived at the Shamshabad airport in the evening. The customs officials got suspicious about both of them and checked their luggage thoroughly. With this, the customs officials found 953 grams of gold worth 59 lakh 27 thousand rupees in their possession. The officials of the airport were surprised to see them, because the officials said that gold is being hidden in items such as Airpods, children’s clothes boxes, in the middle of cardboard boxes, in the lids of perfume bottles and ladies’ handbags so that no one would suspect. They tried to bring gold from Dubai and move it to Hyderabad. They tried to smuggle gold without anyone noticing. Both have been arrested and are being interrogated in this regard.
