KARACHI: There has been a remarkable increase in naval defense capabilities Two new warships will be formally inducted into the Pakistan Navy. PNS Babar and PNS Hunain joined Pak Navy fleet simultaneously. President Asif Ali Zardari will be the chief guest at the induction ceremony of the ships.
4 Babar class ships equipped with vertical launch system have been inducted into Pakistan Navy, 2 ships are manufactured in Istanbul and 2 in Karachi under Pak-Turkey agreement while 3 other Babar class ships are PNS Badr, Tariq and Khyber are in the preparation phase.
According to ISPR, on the occasion of Defense Day, two large ships PNS Babar and PNS Hunain joined the fleet of Pakistan Navy simultaneously, manufactured in Turkey, the first ship of Miljum / Babur class to officially become of the Pakistan Navy, while the third offshore patrol vessel built in Romania, PNS Hanin, will also join the Pakistan Navy.
According to ISPR, the construction of PNS Babur started on June 4, 2020 and was launched on August 15, 2021, while the construction was completed on September 23, 2023.
