Srinagar records season’s coldest night at minus 2.1 degree Celsius
Srinagar, Nov 27 (PTI) Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, recorded the season’s coldest night at minus 2.1 degrees Celsius as against minus 1.0 degrees Celsius the previous night.
Cold wave has strengthened its grip in Kashmir since last one week amid forecast of dry weather.
The minimum temperature in the valley remained below the freezing point as most stations recorded sub-zero temperatures.
The world-famous ski-resort, Gulmarg, recorded a minimum temperature of minus 1.0 degrees Celsius on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, while north Kashmir’s Kupwara recorded minus 1.4 degrees Celsius, the details said.
Kokernag in south Kashmir recorded minus 0.4 degrees Celsius, while Qazigund recorded a minimum temperature of minus 1.4 degrees Celsius.
