It may be mentioned that the party led by Telangana Pradesh BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar started the first phase of Praja Sangram Yatra in September last year. The second phase started from the Jogulamba temple at Alampur in Gadwal on April 14 on Ambedkar Jayanti. On the concluding day of Praja Sangram Yatra (Phase-II) in Tukkuguda region of Telangana, the Home Minister will address a public meeting at 6.30 pm.
The political significance of the Shah’s public meeting
Earlier, Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy visited the venue of the rally on Friday and expressed confidence that the state would change and the next government would be that of the BJP. Shah’s public meeting has political significance as the BJP wants to emerge as an alternative to the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti in the state assembly elections next year. The BJP’s success in the by-elections to the Dubak and Huzurabad assembly seats in 2020 and 2021 and in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections is encouraging.
A literal war between TRS and BJP
At the same time, Kalvakuntala Kavita, a member of the Legislative Council of the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) in Telangana, asked Shah some questions on Twitter before his visit and said that Amit Shah should tell the people of Telangana when the central government will pay the arrears to the state. The TRS leader sought Shah’s response to questions on rising inflation, record-breaking unemployment, widespread communal violence in the BJP regime and fuel prices. Let me tell you that a literal war has been raging for months between the ruling TRS and the BJP ahead of next year’s Assembly elections in Telangana.
