Ghoksadanga: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee made ugly comments about Rajvanshis. The All Kamtapur Students’ Union (AKSU) blocked the Pundibari-Falakata National Highway at Gumanihat on Thursday demanding the resignation of the Chief Minister and a public apology.
AKSU Central Committee President Kaushik Barman said that the Chief Minister compared Rajvanshi Janjati to his feet while speaking on the foundation day of Trinamool Chhatra Parishad in Kolkata on August 28. This cannot be accepted in any way. It is an insult to royal society. Therefore, on this day, the resignation of the Chief Minister was demanded. Besides, a public apology has been demanded. Police arrested 18 people including their four women for blocking the road that day. In this way, the mouth cannot be closed by arrest. He also said that the movement will continue if the Chief Minister does not apologize.
On this day, the siege lasted for about twenty minutes. The blockade caused massive traffic jams. Tufanganj MLA and BJP leader Malti Rava got stuck. He got down from the car and spoke to the besiegers. Giving moral support to their movement, he said, ‘We also protested it in the assembly on behalf of the party.’ On this day, the police of Ghoksadanga police station reached the spot and arrested 18 protesters including four women. Among those arrested are the president of the central committee of the organization Kaushik Barman, joint secretary of the central committee Poornima Ravidas, member of the central committee Rama Roy, Rahul Barman. According to the police, 18 people have been arrested for blocking the road without permission on the national highway.
