A youth from Amidala village in Ananthapuram district of Andhra Pradesh was in love with a girl of his relation who was studying in class eight. Both the families decided to marry them both. In this situation yesterday, the young man stopped the girl at the door of the house and tied the thali without making any preparations for the marriage.

The video footage of this wedding, which was conducted by the elders like a sports wedding, went viral on social media. Seeing this, social activists rushed there and confirmed the child marriage and informed the police.

The Uravakonda police rushed to the scene and registered a case against the thali tied youth and their relatives under the Prevention of Child Marriage Act, arrested them and took them to the police station for investigation. They have spent only five rupees for this wedding, three rupees for tali rope and two rupees for turmeric.
