The liquor was seized from under-23 cricketers of Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) at Chandigarh Airport. On January 25, 5 players of the team carried a total of 27 bottles of liquor from Chandigarh Airport to Rajkot by plane. On January 29, the Sorashtra Cricket Association said, we will investigate this incident and take action.
In fact, since the year 1960 when Maharashtra and Gujarat were separated, there was a ban on the manufacture, storage and purchase of liquor in Gujarat.
The players went to Chandigarh to play the CK Nayudu Trophy match
The incident took place when the Saurashtra team went to Chandigarh for the Colonel CK Nayudu Trophy Under-23 Multi-Day Tournament match against Chandigarh from January 21 to 24. The match ended on 24 January and Saurashtra won by nine wickets.
