The IMF Executive Board publishes its September meeting schedule, which includes meetings on September 9 and 13.
ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint / UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-4th September 2024) The International Monetary Fund (IMF) approval of the $7 billion loan program for Pakistan has encountered further delays.
The IMF Executive Board has released its meeting schedule for September, which includes sessions on September 9 and September 13.
However, the case of Pakistan is conspicuously absent from these agendas.
The meeting on September 9 will focus on the financial situation of Bhutan, while the case of Norway will be discussed on September 13.
Pakistan and the IMF reached a staff-level agreement on July 12, but according to sources, the country is still working to address the external financing gap.
Sources in the Ministry of Finance expressed confidence that the federal government will meet all the requirements of the IMF.
The Minister of Finance also showed that efforts to close the external financing gap are in advanced stages, and the approval of the loan program is anticipated this month.
Pakistan loan approval is expected to be considered once all the preconditions are met.
