The number of telecom subscribers increased to 117.2 crore

The number of Indian telecom subscribers increased to 117.2 crore in March last year.

According to the figures released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI):

Last March, India’s largest telco Reliance Jio added 30.5 lakh mobile subscribers. After that, the number of mobile subscribers of the company crossed 43 crore in March, which was 42.71 crore in February.

However, Vodafone Idea lost 12.12 lakh mobile subscribers in the same month. After that, the company’s mobile subscriber base dropped to 23.67 crore in March from 23.79 crore in February.

Last March, Bharti Airtel added 10.37 lakh mobile subscribers. After that, the number of mobile subscribers of the company increased from 36.98 crore in February to 37.09 crore in March.

The total number of broadband subscribers increased by 0.86 percent in March compared to the previous month of February.

The number increased from 83.93 crore at the end of February to 84.66 crore at the end of March.

In terms of the number of broadband subscribers, the top 5 companies including Reliance Jio (43.85 crore), Bharti Airtel (24.19 crore) and Vodafone Idea (12.48 crore) have a market share of 98.37 percent.

The total number of telecom subscribers in India increased to 117.3 crore in March last year. This was a 0.21 percent drop from the previous February, the figures showed.
