Top telcos have not paid crores of tax to AMC
- Notice was given to all telecom companies

Tax collection is being done by giving different rebate schemes by the case department of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation. 700 crores have been collected from 14 February 2023 to 30 April 2023. In the coming time, telecom companies like Bharti Airtel, Idea, Vodafone, Tata Tele Service have also been given warning notices due to outstanding tax.
From telecom companies Rs. 2.21 crore outstanding
Jainik Vakil, chairman of the revenue committee of AMC, said that if we talk about the details of the outstanding taxes of the companies in the telecom sector, from Vodafone Rs. 6,95,248, from Idea Rs. 9,75,712, Tata Tele Service Rs. 44,18,824, Bharti Airtel Rs. 16,03,749, Gujarat Telelink Rs. 44,07,335, Reliance Communication’s Rs. 1,00,13,862 thus making a total of Rs. A whopping amount of 2.21 crores is outstanding.

Notice was given to telecom companies
At present, even though the telecom sector owes about 2 crores of tax, a notice has been sent to them. In the future, a notice will also be sent to the hotel, hospital sector. Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation currently owes taxes to telecom companies like Bharti Airtel, Vodafone, Idea, Tata Tele Service, Gujarat Tele Private Limited, Reliance Communication Limited in the telecom sector. A final warning notice has been issued to all these telecom companies. Strict action will be taken if the outstanding tax amount is not paid
Strict action will be taken if tax is not paid
The Corporation has issued a last warning notice to all the telecom companies in the telecom sector, Bharti Airtel, Vodafone, Idea, Tata Tele Service, Gujarat Tele Pvt Ltd, Reliance Communication Ltd, who are currently paying taxes. Strict action will be taken if the outstanding tax amount is not paid.
If the tax is not paid, the cable will not be allowed
The engineering and estate department of AMC will be informed that road opening permits will not be issued to all these companies until the tax is fully recovered. So all these companies will not get road opening permit for laying cables. If the remaining tax is not paid, then sealing and auctioning will be done as per section 45 and 46.
Corporation Tax Rs. 700 crores in revenue
AMC Tax Department is encouraging people to pay taxes by offering different schemes to the city public. So far a rebate of crores of rupees has also been given under which AMC under “one time settlement” has given the corporation Rs. 700 crores in tax revenue. Revenue Committee Chairman Jainik Vakil said that even though 100 percent interest waiver and 15 percent tax payer was given to the tax payer, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation will turn a red eye against those who do not pay the tax amount.
