The police team has seized a bus loaded with illegal liquor on Indore-Ahmedabad four lane. After receiving information that some people were going to Gujarat in a sleeper bus carrying liquor from Indore, the Cyber ​​Crime Branch team started checking the vehicles by placing barricades in front of Naugaon police station. After some time, a bus stopped and during its search, the police team found illicit liquor worth about Rs 25 lakh 75 thousand in the bus. The police reached Naugaon police station with the vehicle. While taking action to confiscate the liquor, a case has been registered under the Excise Act against four people traveling in the bus. It is being told that the accused were to reach Gujarat by today afternoon with the said liquor along with the bus, before that action was taken against the bus in Dhar.

In fact, in the monthly review meeting held every month, SP Manoj Kumar Singh had given instructions to all the police station in-charges of the district and the cyber crime branch team to curb illegal activities. In this context, a special campaign regarding liquor transportation is being run under the guidance of ASP Dr. Inderjit Bakalwar. In the matter of sending liquor to Gujarat state, Dhar district has become a hub of transportation, where liquor mafias load liquor from other districts in vehicles and send it to Gujarat via Dhar.

Sleeper bus number GJ-01 CU-4444 was stopped by the police team in front of the police station at around 5:30 am on Tuesday morning. Ashwin Chauhan father Omkar Singh, Suresh father Taksingh Dudve, Sanjay father Ida Bhide and Ravi father Bheharla Kanesh who were traveling in the vehicle have been arrested. The accused are residents of Alirajpur district, from whom the police have recovered four mobile phones and Rs 2,000 in cash.

Giving information, ASP Bakalwar said that the suspicious bus was stopped, when the police personnel reached inside, there were no passengers in the bus. Only four youths were sitting in the bus, when the driver Ashwin Chauhan was interrogated, the driver, in order to mislead, told the police that the passenger was not found. That’s why they are going to Alirajpur with them, in such a situation, when the police got suspicious, they took the youth along with the bus to the police station. Where these youth were interrogated separately.

Here, the bus was searched from under the seats to the roof and trunk. In which the police saw boxes of liquor. Police have seized 240 boxes of Bagpiper, 70 boxes of MD Whiskey, 25 boxes of Beer and 5 boxes of London Pride from the vehicle. The total cost of the bus including liquor is said to be around Rs 71 lakh.

Police will take remand

After the action on Tuesday morning, the accused will be presented before the court in the afternoon. This is the first case in Dhar of liquor being found in a sleeper bus, before this the police had seized liquor from the cabins of trucks including Amul milk containers. During initial interrogation, the accused have told that they brought the liquor from Indore, in such a situation the police will take remand and conduct further investigation against the accused.
