SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 16th Aug, 2024 ) The Waheed Wain Incubation Center of the University of Sargodha has obtained funding of Rs 100 million to support and promote innovative business ideas of students. The Wain Foundation provides funding to grow students’ business ideas.
This was decided during the first meeting of the Board of Governors of WWIC, chaired by the Vice Chancellor of the University Prof. Dr. Qaiser Abbas. While Wain Foundation Chairman Aamir Wain attended the meeting through zoom. Members of the Board of Governors, including Saleem Ranjha, Ashraf Qureshi, Rizwan Ahmed, Ahmed Raza Bilal, Salman Paracha and Samira Samar were also present and agreed to create the fund to incubate and commercialize business ideas.
The vice-chancellor emphasized that the University of Sargodha is always committed to aligning the incubation center with international standards. This funding will enable us to further enhance the capabilities of our incubation centre, ensuring that it remains at the forefront of innovation and entrepreneurship in Pakistan.
The funding of Rs. 100 million will give our students the resources they need to take their ideas from the table to the market.
Prof Dr Qaiser Abbas also highlighted a recent (MoU) signed with the National Rural Support Program (NRSP) to establish a Special Technology Zone in Sargodha. This initiative provides IT students with comprehensive support to excel in their careers.
Aamir Wain said our goal is to ignite the entrepreneurial spirit in every student by providing them with the resources, mentorship and guidance they need to turn their innovative ideas into successful businesses. He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting students’ business ideas and helping them achieve global recognition.
