Uttar Pradesh POCSO court creates history, sentences rape case accused to life imprisonment in just 10 days – News18 Gujarati

Pratapgarh: Within 10 days in UP’s Pratapgarh, the POCSO court has sentenced the accused to life imprisonment. This is the historic decision of POCSO Court of Pratapgarh. Special Judge of POCSO Court Pankaj Kumar said that within 10 days, the accused in the rape case has been sentenced to life imprisonment. The court has also imposed a fine of 20 thousand on the accused Bhupendra Singh. Accused Bhupendra Singh raped a 6-year-old innocent girl in Nagar Kotwali area on 12 August 2022. When the villagers reached the spot, they caught the accused Bhupendra Singh. The villagers then beat him up and handed him over to the police.

On September 3, the police filed a charge sheet

A rape case was filed on 13th August 2022 in Nagar Kotwali. On September 3, 2022, the police filed the charge sheet. From the day of September 3, 2022, proceedings were started with witnesses. 8 witnesses were taken into account till September 16. On September 17, the statement of accused Bhupendra Singh was taken in court. On September 20, arguments in the case ended before the judge. On 21st September, Bhupendra Singh was proved as accused. On September 22, the POCSO court sentenced the accused to life imprisonment.

The case was closed within 40 days

Accused Bhupendra Singh Kirawa lived in Mauaima area. Justice to the victim within 10 days has increased the hope of justice. The court’s historic decision will create fear among criminals and criminals. This will make the criminal think thousand times before committing the crime. There the whole case was closed in 40 days. The police has also made an appreciable contribution in it.

The accused had produced a bogus certificate

Government advocate Devesh said that on September 17, the accused Bhupendra claimed that he was a minor while appearing in the court. Then the educational certificate was presented in this matter. But during investigation it was found that the certificate is bogus. The accused wanted to escape by producing a bogus certificate.
