Uttarakhand: Uncontrolled car plunges into Sharda river, 5 dead including 3 children

Late at night, an Innova car lost control and fell into the Sharda canal near Lohiahead. 5 people including 3 children and a woman died in the incident. After the incident, there was mourning in two villages. The police seized the dead bodies of five people from the Innova car late at night and kept them in the mortuary. On Friday morning, the dead bodies were handed over to the family members after the post-mortem process.
38-year-old Dropati alias Durga, resident of Power House Colony Lohihead, 12-year-old Jyoti and Innova car driver Mohan Singh Dhami, 40-year-old resident of Nagra Tarai, Bahadur Singh Dhami went to the house of their brother Mohanchand, resident of Anjania Budhabag, in an Innova car on Thursday evening. Late at night, Lohiahead returned home with his brother’s son Sonu, 5, and daughter Deepika, 7. Then the Innova car went out of control and fell into Sharda Canal near Power House Jali. Meanwhile, when she did not reach home, her brother Mohanchand got worried. After which he started searching. Innova car fell into Sharda canal. Mohan Chand gave the information to the police.
Police personnel reached Sharda canal late at night. Where he began his investigation. The Innova car stuck in the Sharda Canal was pulled out with the help of a rope and other vehicles with great difficulty. After which five people trapped in the car were pulled out. He was brought to the district hospital by 108 service. Where the doctors declared him dead.
