CM KCR lays foundation stone for Hyderabad Airport Express Metro

CM KCR laid the foundation stone for the construction of second phase of Metro in Hyderabad. The foundation stone of the Airport Express Metro to be built from Rayadurgam to Shamshabad Airport as a continuation of Nagol-Rayadurgam Corridor-3 was laid at Mindspace in front of Ikea near Gachibowli. Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, Ministers KTR, Mahmud Ali, Sabita, Talsani Srinivas Yadav, Vemula Prashanth Reddy, Mallareddy, MPs Kesava Rao, Ranjith Reddy, GHMC Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, TRSC MLAs from Hyderabad Nagar and others participated in this program.

Meanwhile, Hyderabad Metro Rail is making arrangements to travel from Rayadurgam to Shamshabad Airport (31 km) in just 26 minutes as part of the second phase of metro expansion. It uses the latest technology to reach the airport quickly. A 2.5 km long underground rail line will be constructed along with the pillars. Aero dynamic technology will be used to travel at a speed of 120 km on this route which will be built along the Outer Ring Road. Airport metro stations will be closed circuit as compared to existing metro stations. The platform gates open only when the train arrives. Metro Rail MD NVS Reddy said that there will be 8-9 stations from Rayadurgam to the airport and the cargo line and passenger line will be different. This project will be completed in three years. He said that in view of the future needs, CM KCR has taken up the construction of the airport metro corridor with dignity.
