The International Kolkata Short Film Festival (IKSFF) entered its fourth year this year. This festival has grown a lot in these four years. So this year their tag line is “small film big festival”. This year’s International Kolkata Short Film Festival ran for six days from January 23 to January 28. Short films from around 30 countries were screened at the festival this year. A total of 270 photos were submitted from around the world. America, Poland, Japan, Korea, Bangladesh, Egypt, Czech, Nepal, Bhutan are nominated for the best short film from almost all the countries of the world. Among them, 80 films were nominated. All these 80 films were screened during the six-day festival. The best short films in the world are shown online on January 23-25 ​​​​​​​​​​​​​and at Rotary House on January 26-28. There are several important films at this year’s festival. Notable among them is “Nehemich” by Yudhajit Bose, which was screened at the Cannes Film Festival.

‘The Two Way Street’, this film received an Oscar nomination as an Indian film. Satish Sharma’s ‘Yaan’ is produced from Shyam Benegel’s production company. Sanjay Mishra starrer Manish Saini’s ‘Gidh’ has received a response. Notable is ‘My Father is Afraid of Water’ starring Mohan Agas. Bangla films include Budhayan Mukhopadhyay’s “251” starring Anirban Bhattacharya. Parmita Munsi’s ‘The Last Tram’ with Chiranjit Chakraborty, ‘Cabbage’ starring Moonmoon Sen and Sabyasachi Chakraborty got a chance to watch. Also, tribal films ‘Papaya’, ‘The Road’ are in the list of films of the festival. Ankit Bagchi is in charge of the program of the entire festival.
