Chennai: At least 4 people were killed and around 9 injured when a crane collapsed during a temple festival in Tamil Nadu’s Arakonam on Sunday night. The Mandiaman Temple Mylar festival was being organized in Kilivedi area adjacent to Nemili in Ranipet district. This terrible incident was caught on camera, in which the scene of the sudden fall of the crane is shown.

of The Hindu According to the report, the incident took place around 8:15 pm. The police said that the deceased were identified as KK. Muthukumar (39), S. Bhupalan (40) and B. Jyoti Babu (17) while the identity of another deceased has not been revealed. According to sources, hundreds of people from the area had gathered for the festival at the Mandi Amman temple in Nemili. The accident took place during a program in Myleru, where people tried to garland the idols of the temple by riding a crane, when a horrific incident took place and the crane driver was arrested.

India Post According to a report in the accident, around 9 people, including a girl, were seriously injured and were admitted to Pune Government Primary Health Centre, Arakonam Government Hospital and a private hospital. Around 1500 devotees were present around the crane at the time of the accident. Nemili district collector Sumathi, village administrative officer Manikandan and the police are investigating the case.
