Mamta did a topless photo shoot for Stardust magazine, which shocked her fans. After this she was surrounded by controversies and felt ashamed of what she had done. In an interview to Laharen Metro, she apologized for this. She had a different image among people. People are said to have bought the Rs 20 Stardust magazine for Rs 100 each because of the topless photos.

When Don Chhota Rajan’s threatening phone call went to Rajkumar Santosh, he had to cast Mamta Kulkarni again. The film was a flop and despite Mamta playing the lead role it didn’t matter.
