Weather Update: Due to the effect of Cyclone, there will be heavy rain in these states, Meteorological department alert

Under the influence of a cyclonic circulation in South Andaman Sea and adjoining area, a low pressure area is likely to form over Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining South Andaman Sea by December 6.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), due to this, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur over the Andaman and Nicobar archipelago during December 4-6. North coastal Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal and south coastal Andhra Pradesh are likely to receive rains from December 7 midnight onwards.

Heavy to very heavy rain is expected over North Tamil Nadu and Puducherry and heavy rain at few places over South Andhra Pradesh on December 8. The Meteorological Department has also issued an alert in this regard.

While the Meteorological Department says that stormy weather (40-45 kmph to 55 kmph) is likely over Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Andaman Sea on December 5.

Strong winds (45-55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph) over South-East Bay of Bengal on 5 and 6 December and over South-West and adjoining South-East Bay of Bengal on 6-7 December. There is a possibility of Strong winds (50-60 kmph gusting to 70 kmph) are expected over southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Sri Lankan coast on December 7 and 8.

Gusty winds (40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph) are expected over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, South Andhra Pradesh coast and Gulf of Mannar from December 8 morning. It may reach a speed of 70 kmph during the next 12 hours till evening.
