A woman grooms a child with cigarettes and alcohol to “prove” that he is not gay before having sex with him.

Lucy Jayne Hamble, 39, initially denied any wrongdoing with police, but pleaded guilty to four counts of sexual activity with a 13-year-old boy.

A court in Truro, a town in Cornwall, England, heard that Hambley sought friendship with the young boy – but turned things around sexually when he said he might be gay.

“I’m going to prove you’re not gay,” he replied as he dressed her and himself and led her into a bedroom, True Crown Court heard.

Hambley encourages her to drink and smoke and starts kissing her. Cornwall Live informed of. “He asked her to stop but he ignored her,” prosecutors said.

,[The victim] She said that he didn’t use a condom on her and kept telling her that she loved him and wanted to get pregnant with him. He had never had sex before.”

Sexual abuse became almost daily over a nine-month period between 2018 and 2019 as he treated her as an “adult partner” after four weeks of friendship.

Hambley sent her candid photos of her which he claimed had also sent dating website users.

In an alarming moment, the court heard that a neighbor of Hambley knocked on the door and found both Hambly and the boy in dressing gowns opening the door with “love bites around their necks”. Concerned, the neighbor filed an anonymous report to Childline.

The boy “didn’t have the guts to tell anyone” but eventually told his mother and a social worker that Hambley had done a “bad thing” to him.

In a victim’s statement, he said: “I never see myself happy again. It has destroyed me. I have changed everything about myself, and nothing for the better.

“I’ve harmed myself and go weeks without sleep. I took an overdose with the intention of taking my life.”

Rupert Taylor defended that Hambley was a “lonely and saddened” man “suffering from anxiety and depression”.

“She has succumbed to her own will born of loneliness,” he said.

Judge Anna Richardson said Hamble framed the boy in a deeply untenable breach of trust. “There’s a very distorted thinking, that he had all the control and manipulated you,” she said.

“You were an adult in this situation.”

Hambley was sentenced to nine months, five years and three months, seven and a half years and six years in prison, meaning they would serve seven and a half years together. She will be on the sex offenders register for life.
