Youth drowns while bathing in water mine, missing | NDRF and Municipal Corporation team searched all day, no clue found

A young man drowned in a water-filled mine on Wednesday afternoon in Shanti Nagar, behind Holy Family School located in Gandhi Nagar police station area. He had gone to take a bath with two of his friends. Even after a whole day’s search, the NDRF and Municipal Corporation teams could not find the youth. The search operation was called off due to darkness late in the evening. The search operation will be started once again on Thursday morning.

According to the police, three youths living in Nat Mohalla of Nai Basti Gandhi Nagar had reached the pond bank behind Holi Family School for picnic at around 12 noon on Wednesday. The three youths sat on the bank and first had breakfast and water and then started taking bath on the bank of the pond.

Meanwhile, a young man Mahesh Solanki (38) went into deep water while bathing. His friends Santosh and Raja Babu had stopped him from going further into deep water but he did not agree. After going into deep water, he started drowning. Santosh and Raja Babu tried to inform people about the incident by making noise but by then Mahesh drowned in water.

As soon as information about the incident was received, Mahesh’s family and police also reached the spot. On police information, Municipal Corporation divers and NDRF had reached the spot. Both the teams carried out the rescue operation till darkness fell but Mahesh Solanki could not be found anywhere. People say that the three youths were drinking alcohol on the banks of the pond. During that time this accident happened.
