Karachi is set to witness an upgrade in its transportation system post-Eid, as announced by Sindh Transport Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon. Addressing the media in Karachi, Senior Provincial Minister Memon highlighted the need for an enhanced transport infrastructure in the city.

During the press conference, Minister Memon revealed plans to introduce new buses on various routes in Karachi following the conclusion of Ramadan. Notably, two new routes for electric buses will be launched as part of this initiative. Additionally, the pink bus service will see an expansion in its fleet to accommodate the growing demand for public transportation.

Minister Memon emphasized the significance of the people’s bus service, with over a lakh commuters relying on it daily. To streamline the service, a card system will be introduced on routes 1 and 9 starting April 18. This move aims to facilitate passengers with convenient payment options, including both prepaid and postpaid cards, which will also be extended to the green line and orange line routes.

These measures signify a concerted effort by the provincial government to enhance accessibility and efficiency within Karachi’s public transportation network, promising a more seamless commuting experience for residents and visitors alike.
