A plan has been drawn up to transfer all Dubai Airport operations to Al Maktoum Airport in Dubai in the next 10 years.
The ruler of Dubai shared the plan to relocate Dubai Airport on social media. The design of the new passenger terminals at Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai has been approved.
The cost of building the new terminal will be 128 billion dirhams. 260 million passengers can be handled every year from Al-Mutakum Airport.
In the future airport, 5 runways will be able to operate parallel flights at the same time, 400 planes will be able to serve passengers at the same time in the future airport. New aviation technologies will be used for the first time in the airport’s aviation sector.
The new city “Dubai South” will be built around the Al-Mutakum Airport, housing facilities for 1 million people will be provided in Dubai South.
Remember that Dubai’s Al Mutacom Airport has hosted the Dubai Air Show for the past 10 years. Dubai Al Mutaqum Airport began operations with cargo flights in 2010.
Al Mutacom Airport in Dubai is located 60 km away from the existing Dubai Airport. Limited passenger flights will also depart from Dubai Al Maktoum International Airport today.
