The Islamabad High Court has issued notices to Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, Inspector General of Police (IGP), and other relevant parties, seeking their response on a petition filed against the refusal to permit a rally by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Islamabad.

The case was heard by Chief Justice Amir Farooq of the Islamabad High Court. PTI’s lawyer, Sher Afzal Advocate, informed the court that the IG Islamabad cited security threats as the reason for not granting permission for the rally.

The Chief Justice stated that all available options would be considered, and the court adjourned the hearing until tomorrow.

Previously, the High Court had directed the Deputy Commissioner to make a decision on PTI’s request. However, the DC Islamabad rejected the request, citing security concerns and insufficient police presence.
